First 30 Days - Listenoing & Understanding
In my first month as Division Director, my priority will be to listen closely to your concerns.
Conduct Listening Sessions: I'll hold virtual town hall meetings across different sections of our division where every member can voice their thoughts.
Assess Open & Inactive Positions: I'll evaluate existing inactive positions and vacancies within the division staff and work towards filling them promptly with qualified individuals who share your vision.
Establish Communication Channels: I'll reactivate our Division website and set up regular newsletters and/or updates that keep everyone informed about ongoing initiatives at both divisional and national levels.
-
First 60 Days - Action Planning
As we move into the second month:
Implement Feedback Mechanisms: Based on what I've learned from listening sessions, I'll create structured feedback channels that allow members to continuously share their ideas and concerns.
Engagement Initiatives: Launch programs aimed at increasing youth involvement in amateur radio while promoting STEM education through partnerships with local schools.
Strengthen Community Ties: Foster collaborations between clubs within our division by organizing joint events or contests that encourage participation across different sections.

First 90 Days: Building Momentum
By day ninety:
Review Membership Strategies: Analyze current membership trends alongside feedback received from members about why they feel disconnected from ARRL; develop strategies aimed at reversing declining membership numbers.
Enhance Visibility of Leadership Roles: Ensure transparency concerning open positions by publicly sharing application processes along with expectations; this will help build trust among members who feel unheard.
Transparency in Governance:
Provide clear agendas prior to Board Meetings so all members know what topics will be discussed.
After each meeting, issue a post-meeting update summarizing key decisions made, actions taken, and any important discussions. This ensures you are kept informed about developments impacting amateur radio in our division.
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
